There is literally nothing on the market that compares to its flexibility and ease of use.
But there is a dark side that I was abruptly introduced to 2 days ago that all OneNote users should be aware of.
Go ahead and read it so that the rest of this post will make sense.
For those of you that did not read it (or see the screenshots in it) the basic facts are as follows.
It would say Problem loading widget or something similar and Id just re-add the widget to my home page and assume it was an Android issue.
At this time I did not notice anything strange, but I wasnt looking for anything either.
But no notebooks showed in OneNote on Android - just a default yourname heres Notebook.
Well sync again if permissions are restored.
Error code: 0xE0001460 bw90r 40007) and This section might have been deleted from the server.
You can try to sync this section again, or copy your notes to another section.

Clicking it revealed a message that says You no longer have permission to add or view changes to this notebook with outlook.com.
WTF How do you lose permission to ad or view changes to your own notebooks.
I successfully created the new notebook, but any attempt to copy or move sections or notes into it resulted in another error message that said The sections you are moving have not all been synced.
Make sure you are online and fully synced before you move sections between notebooks.
Then that message is replaced by another message that says Something went wrong and we cannot copy that segment.
Nevermind that an inability to sync was why I was trying this in the first place.
Please try again.
Trying again only results in the same message.
After screaming at the IVR a few times I got a real live person - Jose R.
Open Onenote On Onenote For Windows How To Fix The
Jose stayed on my PC for what seemed like an hour (I didnt time it as I was running on 3 hours sleep in the last 48), but he could not figure out how to fix the issue.
At this point I told him that I would feel a lot better if he could just show me where the files showing in OneNote for Windows were so that I could back them up (as OneNote for Windows does not seem to have a proper backup routine).
After about 15 minutes of Jose looking around, I suggested that we look at Nirsoft (owned by Microsoft) to find an app that would show all files open by open processes.
Jose had no idea what I was talking about so, after wresting control of the mouse from him, I went to NirSoft where I found OpendedFilesView and ProcessActivityView which allowed me to find the hole that OneNote for Windows had hidden my notes in - C:Userskittenofd00mAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.Office.OneNote8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStateAppDataLocalOneNote16.0cache They seem to be saved in some sort of bin format that, conveniently enough, is completely unreadable and unusable outside of OneNote.
After about 20 more minutes of futile searching, Jose said that he needed to get me to another team that could help me.
